tfalasz finally beat gaberios and it cost him nothing in the standings. ryanjenn356 is 0-4 and the Shamp index has already made up its mind.
Week 4 median was 152.39, which is the only number you need to understand the carnage. tfalasz put up 184.28, the week's high, and used it to beat gaberios 184.28-175.56 — an 8.72 margin that snapped a head-to-head ledger reading 8-1 in gaberios's favor. Meanwhile earios buried ryanjenn356 163.68-91.12, a 72.56-point blowout and the low score of the week. Joewald3 went to 4-0 by hanging 176.36 on HogCityDog. Five games, three decided by 29 or more, and one manager still looking for his first win.
THE DAY THE 8-1 DIED
tfalasz had lost to gaberios eight times in nine meetings. He is 0-3 in the playoffs. His two titles are pre-2021 hand-written artifacts from 2013 and 2020, which in this league counts as folklore rather than evidence. And on Week 4 he dropped 184.28, the highest score in the league, and took down the two-time Sleeper-era champion by 8.72. That is the single best thing tfalasz has done since the box scores started getting saved. He is still 1-3. He is still 564.24 points for against 677.06 against, the worst points-against figure in the league. But the 8-1 is now 8-2, and nobody can take that back.
The rebuttal: gaberios scored 175.56 and lost, which the briefing lists as the week's unluckiest loss. He is 2-2 with a points differential of 612.32 to 612.76. A 52-22 career record and a 59.6 all-play does not get rewritten by one Sunday where the other guy peaked.
THE SHAMP RACE
ryanjenn356 sits at 45.4 percent, more than triple the field's next name. HogCityDog is at 13.7 and tfalasz at 11.9, with MikeBosh at 9.7 and GKrum at 8.8 behind them. The basis is 29 percent this season, 71 percent league history, and history is not kind here: ryanjenn356 owns a 44.4 all-play, the worst mark in the league, a 31-43 vs-median record, and 134.84 points per game. Now he's 0-4 with 451.99 points for, 110 fewer than anyone else, and a 91.12 that was the week's floor. The index is the Gazette's own arithmetic, not a sportsbook. It is also, this week, hard to argue with.
The defense: ryanjenn356 still holds the single best week in recorded league history, 218.66 in Week 12 of 2022. The man has range. And HogCityDog at 13.7 is sitting at 2-2 after churning six roster moves in one week, which is not the behavior of someone who feels safe.
JOEWALD3 IS 4-0 AND NOBODY WANTS TO SAY IT
The manager with the worst five-year record in the league — 29-41 since 2021 — is the only undefeated team in Firm Lyfe. Joewald3 leads the league with 676.82 points for and has conceded just 525.40. He put 176.36 on HogCityDog, a 59.94-point beating, and his Shamp chance has fallen to 2.8 percent. For a 33-41 all-time manager with a 48.2 all-play, that is a complete inversion. Remember too that he owns the 2021 title and a 4-1 playoff record, the best winning rate in the postseason of anyone in the league.
The rebuttal: four weeks. Siks78 is 3-1 with 659.38 points, GKrum is 3-1, and the historical gravity on Joewald3 is real — a minus-2 luckWins career and six seasons of finishing below the line. The 2021 banner is also the only one he has.
SIKS78 WON WITHOUT TRYING
The median was 152.39. Siks78 scored 149.24 and won anyway, because MikeBosh scored 134.86. The briefing calls it the luckiest win of the week and the briefing is correct: that is a below-median score converted into a standings point by pure scheduling. Siks78 is now 3-1 and second in the league at 659.38 points for, but Week 4 was not part of that resume. He is also the only man in the room with four championships across both eras — 2011, 2014, and 2022, with runner-up finishes in 2021 and 2024 — so he has earned the right to steal one.
The defense: Siks78 carries a career minus-4 luckWins, meaning the schedule has taken more from him than it has given. A 52.0 all-play and a 5-2 playoff record say he usually wins these on merit. One soft Sunday is a rebate, not a theft.
